The man buried under the 5th century gravestone that bore this cross was Daniel, said to be one of the first companions of St. Patrick. Jewelers cast this cross in silver and gold, but to my knowledge I am the only woodcarver in the world to create it from a single piece of cedar.

Early Christians coming to Ireland adopted the Trinity Knot, (originally symbolizing the Triple Goddess of the Celtic people) as a symbol of Christianity representing the holy trinity of Father, Son, & Holy Ghost. You will see the Trinity Knot at the end of each arm of this cross.

This is a wonderful gift for your favorite collector of Christian Crosses!

THE CARVING: My Carvings are single pieces of western red cedar, designed and carved to be wall hangings. Each piece is finished with a blend of clear oils that brings out the natural color of the wood. For more information on the process of creation, please see my profile.

The last picture has the piece on a quilting board, lined up on the 1 inch marks. So subtract 1 inch from the height and width for the stock size. Measurements may vary slightly from piece to piece.

Please convo for shipping outside of the U.S.
