Jesus the Sacred Heart Statue Doll

The hardest thing about painting an image of Jesus is knowing there is no way you can really do Him justice. He is God who became a man for love of us. I hope my image gives some hint to the awesome unfathomable amount of love He has for each one of us. He wants sinners (big ones little ones) to turn to Him and trust in His mercy. He is there knocking on the door of our hearts but we must be the ones to open it.

This is a peg doll of the Sacred Heart. He is about 3 9/16 inches tall. He is painted with non-toxic acrylic paint and sealer. By accident I painted "Pray for us" on the back instead of "Have mercy on us". Mea culpa! It doesn't seem quite enough to simply ask Jesus to pray. But, then again - Fr. Thomas Dubay once said - "When Jesus prays for something - it happens!"

The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus "stresses the central Christian concept of loving and adoring Jesus. The origin of this devotion in its modern form is derived from a French Roman Catholic nun, Marguerite Marie Alacoque, who said she learned the devotion from Jesus in visions. Predecessors to the modern devotion arose unmistakably in the Middle Ages in various facets of Christian mysticism.[1]

In the Roman Catholic tradition, the Sacred Heart has been closely associated with Acts of Reparation to Jesus Christ. In his encyclical Miserentissimus Redemptor, Pope Pius XI stated: "the spirit of expiation or reparation has always had the first and foremost place in the worship given to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus".[2] The Golden Arrow Prayer directly refers to the Sacred Heart.

Devotion to the Sacred Heart is sometimes seen in the Eastern Catholic Churches, where it remains a point of controversy and is seen as an example of Liturgical Latinisation.

The Sacred Heart is often depicted in Christian art as a flaming heart shining with divine light, pierced by the lance-wound, surrounded by a crown of thorns, surmounted by a cross and bleeding. Sometimes the image is over Jesus' body with his wounded hands pointing at the heart. The wounds and crown of thorns allude to the manner of Jesus' death, while the fire represents the transformative power of love.

The Feast of the Sacred Heart has been a Solemnity in the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar since 1856, and is celebrated 19 days after Pentecost. As Pentecost is always celebrated on Sunday, the Feast of the Sacred Heart always falls on a Friday."

Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
I accept Paypal, major credit cards and certified money orders.

I do not offer discounts for bulk orders. In terms of mass market items, discounts for ordering many items works for both parties since it is just stock that is sitting somewhere that needs to be sold or is quick to produce and the manufacture cost comes down the more that are made. In my case, I have to sit down and individually create each item one by one. I have very limited free time as it is (busy wife and mother and all that :) ) so to offer a discount just means more work for me with less pay. Thank you so much for understanding.

Returns & exchanges

I want my customers to by happy. If you have a problem with one of my items please let me know. I can offer a refund or exchange. Please provide the reason for the return. This helps me for the future.

Additional policies

In terms of peg dolls, unless noted as a "READY TO SHIP" item, all items require up to three weeks to produce. MADE TO ORDER in the title of an item means that I will make the item after it is purchased. Fabric saint kits will ship in 2 to 3 days unless backordered.

Some variations will occur in the completed item as these are handmade items ~ especially in the face. I make all of the faces on my dolls pleasant and as lovely as possible but I cannot exactly match the faces provided in the photos. For this reason ~ each saint peg will have a distinct expression and personality. They are all truly one of a kind.

I may also be able to vary the item depending on the customer's preferences. Please allow two weeks for shipment of MADE TO ORDER items and custom items as well.
