Three lovely green/pale green marbles here. The two larger ones (both 3/4" diameter) are both cat eyed. The light sea green coloured one (1/2" diameter) has a yellow cateye spinner. The darker ocean green one has a single shield white layer. The small pale green marble has the lovely white outside swirl as pictured.

Sea marbles are just beautiful and fairly uncommon. There are many theories to their exsistence but the one I think the most likely in this part of the world is that they are from old Codd bottles. Codd bottles were filled upside-down with carbonated drinks. The mechanism in the top of the bottle forced the marble down into the mouth as it was filled. In order to drink your soda all you had to do was push the marble down into the bottle which would release the pressure and you'd have your nice fizzy juice. The marbles couldn't be retrieved unless the bottle was broken. Many of these old codd bottles have ended up in the ocean discarded. The waves break them and release their marbles.

All of my sea glass/pottery is photographed with a 5 pence piece which is about the same size as an American dime. I use the coin as a size comparison and it won’t be accompanying your item on its journey to you. Item ships from the UK.

Sea Glass is a piece of glass that has found its way into the ocean to be naturally tumbled by the bashing of the waves and sand. This process makes the glass beautifully smooth and velvety soft. They truly are ocean gems and are ideal in jewellery making or mosaics. Those of us who collect sea glass are called seaglunkers and if you want to know more about seaglunking visit my blog at http://seaglunker.blogspot.com

All of the sea glass you will find in my shop is 100% natural. The sea has broken, tumbled, and caressed every piece.

I will ensure that every item I ship is wrapped and protected with care. If you have any special packaging requests such as if this is a gift for someone else I am happy to give it a bit more love and make sure the recipient is delighted.
