Stunning late 1930's dress in a very pale ivory (pretty much white unless you place something that's a true white next to it). Sheer chiffon crepe is softly gathered on the bodice and flows gracefully down below the waistband to a bias cut hem. Floor-length, longer in front and back than on either side. Intricate soutache detailing around neckline and on sleeves. Lightly padded shoulders. Keyhole detail on back neckline. Metal Koh-I-Noor Kover-Zip zipper up the side is cloth-bonded to prevent snags. Comes with the original (and comfortable!) matching silk satin slip dress, which is shorter than the dress. Beautiful! It would make a breathtaking wedding dress! This item will ship with insurance. Will arrive packaged safely in a breathable gown bag and on a padded clothes hanger.

The chiffon dress appears to be truly immaculate with the exception of one pen-tip-sized hole behind the right hip seam. The slip dress underneath has a few flaws:
1. A few small areas of light spots (appears to be rust) on the back between the knees and hem near the side seam (please see last photo). The longest area is about 1.5" (3.81 cm) long, and the highest discoloration is ~15" (~38.1 cm) from the hem. None of the discolorations are prominent when worn because they're so light and the chiffon layer drapes beautifully over them (please see fourth photo). Made the mistake of putting a little OxiClean on the spots, which lightened for sure, but the fabric thinned out slightly at the surface, so I don't recommend further spot treatment.
2. slight pulling & tiny stitches at the seams.
The slip dress is still quite wearable, but a colored slip dress would also look amazing under the chiffon dress!

And feel free to ask about layaway!

***NOTE: Like this dress but need a slightly larger one? We recently just acquired a very similar gown with lace soutache on the bodice and in a size small. Inquire for details! It may be a while before we get to listing it!***

Need a matching purse? We've got a few beaded ones with the same pattern as the neckline!
