This finely-crafted Timor Bird Natural Carved Bone Cabochon features a primitive design carved in the style of wood carvings from the Kupang area of West Timor, Indonesia.

While you might find this bird for sale in large wood carvings, you won't find this little pendant-sized gem of bone carving anywhere else because it was custom made for me.

Caught in a rain storm in Bali one day, I was checking out the details on some Timor furniture and hit on the idea of making miniature reproductions of some of the feature pieces in those big carvings.

This is one of the results, crafted by a Balinese artisan carver.

This beautiful bird with its intricate details is also available in brown which you can see here - http://www.etsy.com/listing/72326290/timor-bird-brown-carved-bone-cabochon
