DESCRIPTION:

We have dated the creation of this gorgeous necklace during the Belle Époque era.
The Belle Epoque is a period which slightly predated the Art Nouveau and the Edwardian eras. That movement took place between the 1910s and the 1930s, and launched a totally different aesthetic sensitivity from the earlier Victorian era.

The times were for optimism, peace and global economic prosperity. It produced many artistic masterpieces, particularly in Paris (literature, music and the visual art forms)

This quality fine jewelry piece is a clear representation of this fascinating period which was named "in retrospect when it began to be considered a "Golden Age" in contrast to the horrors of World War I."

This beautiful Belle Époque necklace is composed of several fancy 18K solid gold bright yellow filigree links. 4 of the larger ones measure approximately 16mm and are ~4mm thick. 4 other smaller medallion links measure approximately 14mm. All those beautiful links are connected together by a sturdy and elegant chain alternating long and oval filigree links in a gorgeous pattern. The necklace is fully hallmarked and in excellent vintage condition. It is suitable for all occasions ranging from casual to formal.

Genuine jewelry from this period is getting more and more difficult to find and yet, its popularity to-day is increasing.
