These very early Carl Zeiss Feldstecher 10X25 Prismatic Binoculars were made in Jena, Germany in 1896.

-Rare sloped prism cap
-Inscription in cursive script 'Carl Zeiss Jena D.R.P.' on the left hand side top plate and 'Feldstecher Vergr.=10' on the right hand plate
-Registration number V3155 inscribed on left hand bottom plate indicates manufacture in 1896
-Fitted with sling loops on separate attachments mounted underneath the tubes (this design was abandoned in favor of sling loops manufacture integral to the body in 1904).
-Bakelite eyepieces adjust individually to achieve focus

The binoculars are in good condition, considering their age, and are fully functional. The diopters function independently but the lenses are a little dusty on the inside.

The original black paint has worn off the brass plates and sling hoop attachments in most places.

The leather covering is in good condition. It seems to have shrunk slightly with age and there appears to be some clear tape stuck on the left hand side.
