An April broken china necklace from eagleROWE is for the girl who likes shopping vintage and antique stores, searching for that diamond in the rough. She enjoys finding that one-of-a-kind piece that is interesting, unique, and others haven't seen or done before. She enjoys being an individual and prides herself on owning items that are uniquely her own and are not made en mass or sold at a chain store. She likes treating herself to pretty things and will splurge every now and then for statement pieces that speak her individuality to the world.

My broken china necklaces are those pieces of jewelry that you treasure forever. Truly one of a kind, you won't find these elsewhere. Each piece is hand cut from Spode china and then hand worked into a beautiful pendant. Each cut, sanded edge, hole, and twist of wire is done by hand. And because each pendant is hand done, no two will ever be alike.

If you're looking for that special something for yourself or someone else, my broken china necklaces are that special, unique something that will make that unique girl smile. And with an available upgrade to all sterling silver for $15, you can order a piece that will truly be precious and be timeless, a true work of artisan hands.

(Convo me to upgrade to sterling silver.)

Month pendant is cut from a Spode ceramic plate. All edges are sanded to be smooth to the touch. Unless otherwise requested, necklace will be on a 18" high-quality silver plated cable chain with hand forged clasp.

This broken china necklace came from a china calendar plate discovered at a local North Carolina vintage and antique store. Its maker is Spode. The actual collection this broken china necklace came from is called the "Blue Room" collection, from the greater Blue Italian line, and is circa 1996.

The Spode company actually has a very long vintage china history. Being founded in 1770 by Josiah Spode in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Spode earned recognition for perfecting under-glaze blue transfer printing. This was during a time when blue and white china was very popular and under incredible demand but with little supply from China. When Spode started producing their own supply of blue and white china, they originally produced the usual Chinese motifs found on imported fine china. But in 1814 they launched Spode's iconic Blue Italian range, which became an immediate success and is still in circulation today.

Key markers of the Blue Italian collection are Italian scenes of countryside and Roman ruins, as well as men, women, and children enjoying a perfect Italian day. Another important element is the inclusion of animals, sheep in particular. Blue Italian is also known for its quality craftsmanship, especially when it comes to the incredibly detailed figures on their china. All these elements are present on this broken china necklace, your personal piece of the story, both of Spode and Blue Italian.
