I called this yarn 'under the sea' not only because of the hand dyed blue and turquoise fibres in it, but also for two other reasons.

The first are the 2 crochet shapes which look like corals. I made them from a fine handspun two ply yarn.

The second reason are the cocoons spun from crab fibre. Yes, crab. It is one of the new fibres which is created by recycling their otherwise unused shells from the seafood processing industry. Apparently it is most often made into medical bandages as the fibre helps the healing process and helps avoid the formation of scar tissue - who knew?? *

Most of the wool is organic Merino, with some BFL and Tussah silk as well as silk filament. The yarn is a bulky to extra bulky yarn with slubs of blue mohair curls and crab fibre, this is a nice amount for a hat or loosely tied into a very extravagant little scarf!

Organic Merino wool, Tussah silk, Mohair curls, crab fibre, silk filament, BFL wool, 3 crochet corals, 102m/112 yards, 126g/4.4oz, bulky-extra bulky

Handmade with love in a smoke and pet free home.
