1860s Front Lacing Cage Crinoline

The famous dress silhouette of the Civil War era was created by the cage crinoline. This example is copied from various dress periodicals of the time.

This cage crinoline is made of many flexible steel bands woven through cotton tapes.
The bands are held in place by numerous brass clips. It has a front lacing and buckle for the opening and a stiffened back yoke for smoothness.
The “cage” is lightweight, comfortable and fun to wear, yet is essential for the proper silhouette.

The length comes to mid calf. The circumference is "108" depending on the waist size. If you would like a special circumference size please send email request. Do not expose to water.

This item is custom made to your measurements and can be ready in 2-4 weeks. The following measurements will be needed to make your hoop. Please allow another person to take these measurement.
