When I first started creating fish, I went to a local lake to catch fish to cast in plaster molds. I caught five sunfish and a largemouth bass the size of a sunfish. Then I started to go to local grocery stores that displayed whole fish and asked if I could have them. They said, "No".

One day, I was at a local Seafood wholesale place and asked them. They said, "yes". I went every Saturday to ask if they were chucking out any whole fish. My types of fish grew. I found out later that the owner started much as I had, with one fish she sold to restaurants. That fish was a Tilefish.

The Tilefish are weird looking with big heads and eyes, but beautiful in their uniqueness and taste. This TileFish is about 21 inches long.

It has a gray specked coloring with numerous dots throughout. There is significant texture and scale detail to the body.

The reverse is signed and dated with a wire attached for hanging.

Thanks for looking.
