1940's vintage glass candy container from T H Stough Co., Jeannette, PA.. Shaped like a railroad lantern, even has the original wire star-shaped handle. About 4 1/2 inches tall, has the original tin lid, dome in a brick red color.

Candy containers were very popular, especially in the 1930's - 1940's. Most of these containers were used as advertising pieces - given away to customers. Most were aimed at children: in the shape of toys, cars, animals - even baby bottles!

Condition is very good. Marked: 'T H Stough Co Jeannette, PA Pat S App'.
