We starting using this product about 10 years ago. I found some awesome fabric panels at a shop hop and wanted to enhance the beautiful art work on the fabric.
I pressed the interfacing to the back of the fabric and with a pencil traced just the design I wanted to enhance.
The results are amazing. I loved it and started punching on almost all my quilts for a long time. We were vending at quilt shows and our customers loved the look, too.
We even had a couple of our designs printed on cloth to teach this method. See photo four and five. We even have a you Tube video showing how we do it if you want to check it out :How to Punch Needle Motifs.
You can trace a design on to the woven fusible interfacing; press to the the wrong side of quilting cotton or wool and punch needle the design.
This method does two things: it stabilizes the cotton so the needle doesn"t make holes in the fabric and you have a way to add the design. It works wonderful.
The photos 2-3 above show examples of cotton fabric featuring the art work of Diane Knott. She is an awesome artist and I have punched numerous
of her fabric designs. Another favorite is Jan Patek, but their is hundred of beautiful fabric designers. She is photo nine.
The other examples are my designs that I punched for fun or included this method in some of my patterns.
The fusible woven interfacing is cut into a 36' x 20" piece. Price includes FREE shipping. I hope you give this method a try. It is so fun.
Happy punching.
