It was 1960 but this record is like the fifties were trying to extend themselves into the sixties. The songs conjure up groups like the Lennon Sisters, the McGuire Sisters, hosts like Arthur Godfrey, and places like Mayberry and the County Fair.

These songs are totally appropriate for the entire family.

What a great vintage cover photo! .... Check out the little record player ... everybody looks like they are having fun ... no worldly cares for that happy bunch! .... and could Sammy Kaye's jacket be any brighter?

From the cover notes:

"You're sitting around the patio, or the playroom .... you're grouped around a crackling fire at a beach party, or happily crowded into someone's station wagon on the way home from a picnic. Someone starts humming a familiar melody ... someone picks up the familiar lyric .... you all join in.

"Ever notice how some songs come up every time? The songs in Sing and Sway with Sammy Kaye are those kinds of familiar songs -- the songs you love to sing .... songs you will enjoy singing as never before, because now you have the accompaniment of the incomparable Sammy Kaye, the man whose music is as familiar and popular as this collection of all-time favorites."

JACKET : Clean and presentable .... exceptional front ... rear of cover is clean with near-negligible surface rub

LINER : Clean paper liner

DISC : There are several surface marks that extend across the vinyl but these do not interfere with the sound ... or if they do the resulting noise is very minimal ... the record plays through with no stops or skips and a minimum of extraneous noise ... ( scattered tics )
