Vintage Art Deco Child's Fork & Spoon Set, 1932 Lady Hamilton pattern by Oneida / Community Plate: the perfect gift for a baby shower or child's birthday as is, or ready to be engraved with the particulars - each piece has rounded ends, and the fork's tines are blunt, making them safe for tiny hands!

Highly prized by collectors, this is probably one of the more desirable Art Deco silverplate patterns due to the delicacy and craftsmanship of its design: beautifully tapered (or, in this case, rounded) ends with a graceful incised petal motif and tiny, tiny seeds nestled in the crevice of each petal…two parallel lines near the neck of each piece tops it off nicely. Art Deco verging on Mid Century design, it’s simple, stylized, and just plain retro fantabulous!

Patented by the indomitable Grosvenor Allen, plus Mary Parker (his 'Noblesse' co-designer) and Lloyd Ressegger. For more information on the fascinating history of Community Plate's sliverware designs, see Nancy Gluck's "The Community Table" available on her blog: http://silverseason.wordpress.com/

This set is in very good vintage condition ~ no pitting, dents, heavy tarnish, etc. Fork measures a little over 5"; the spoon is about 4.75". Both have a wonderful patina, and are stamped "Community Plate" on the back.
