Charles Ingalls,(Pa), father of famous author Laura Ingalls, was not only a true life figure in pioneer history, he was also a prominent character in Laura's famous series of books that retold her growing up in pioneer times. Those who have read the series will know that Laura indeed held her father in high regard, and cherished the memory of his tunes played on the violin that he played many and evening by the fire!

Inspired by a real life picture of Charles Ingalls, I create this little miniature doll with brown breeches and black "suspenders", and a pine green checked shirt. Charles has a little wooden fiddle and bow ready to play his tunes. For the final touch, he has bright blue eyes and bushy beard, just as he did in real life.

This fun character is only 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm).

Created out of wood, wire, clay, and paint
