Claire Quilter loves yellow dishes. Salads looks greener, pasta with bolognese sauce looks more delicious. For CQ, yellow is the new white.

And this shape? Biomorphic at its best. Russel Wright's salad bows is sensual, curving, and playful.

In 1938, this Mr. Wright set upon rethinking the American table to make life easier. The resulting American Modern line was a colorful set of dishware in biomorphic shapes that, at the end of the day, just make food look good.

Russel Wright manufactured by Steubenville between 1938 and 1959; mottled chartreuse glaze. A little bit of crazing, typical of the chartreuse glaze. Rare piece in beautiful condition.

Approximately 11 inches (l) x 7.5 inches (w) x 4.5 inches (h).

Check out CQ's dishware sections for more American Modern sets and serving pieces.
