now this is a skirt i grew into. when i saw this one i thought it was so different both in style and color that i had to get it and would use a wide belt around the waist to have it fit me and it did look like it had a slight gather in the front. well when i finally grew into it i had shrunk down and i looked totally rediculous in it. the skirt is cute; cut on the gore idea but with 5 panels not four and not six. the back is the largest piece and plain but the front is wonderful with it's 4 panels, two colors of machine embroidery across the front and all the buttons from the waist to the hem. there is a band across the bottom almost to the hem of a material with more embroidery with like a frogging design on the edges. the work is done in part in light golden brown and part in a black for a wonderful contrast. the buttons are a light brown and the one missing has the replacement on the waistband. the buttons go into an added on "button hole" not the conventional ones we see on clothes. the rich colors lend itself to several choices of blouses and i used black, biege, cream and even russet one time. 100% rayon and can be handwashed cold and i let hang to drip then would touch up with a warm iron. says size22/24 and the waist is 36 inches but the back is sewn with elastic and can stretch to 42 inches. it is 35 inches from waist to hem.
