ABOUT THE PAINTING
Details: 22x28" unframed, ready to hang. Acrylic on canvas.
The Story: This painting captures a significant turning point for a tribe of people--the Israelites in the Bible. The piece captures the "in-between" moment of crossing the Red Sea, with a pillar of fire following and protecting them. The moment had to be an intense mix of fear, anticipation, and "I can't believe this is happening." An army--their former slave masters, symbolic of their past--is chasing them down as they charge forward to their promised future.

About the Artist: I'm Vania Hardy, an artist local to Lancaster County, PA, USA. My art comes from the patchwork of my identity–from the various places I’ve lived, the cultures that have shaped me, to the communities that have influenced me, and the faith that’s been my lifeline.
Being a third culture kid, I’m fascinated by unexpected juxtapositions that create unlikely connections. I express that with splashes of contrasting colors, along with a balance of structured lines and spontaneous strokes. Without always trying, I tend to explore themes of home, identity, community, and legacy.
I'm available for commissions! Send an inquiry at vaniahardy.com/contact.
