This necklace and earring demi-parure, an unsigned Eugene, is simply exquisite. The soft turquoise glass beads are separated by tiny gold spacers. The center of the necklace is a cluster of head wired beads with a gold tone metal trumpet flower kissed with rhinestone dew. There are two butterfly accents on each side with blue beaded detail and small rhinestone touches. While this set is unsigned there is a red beaded version of this set by Eugene that has sold in another store. The owner, The Bells, has graciously given me permission to provide the link for you to view. http://www.rubylane.com/item/407087-0410-EUG2/EUGENE-Nouveau-Style-Flowers-Butterflies
Eugene Schultz ,made wonderful jewelry from 1952 to about 1962. Like Haskell and DeMario, his work often featured hand wired details and used high end materials. All his pieces were his own designs and hand made by his company. Eugene jewelry was sold in several high-end department stores.
The necklace is 15 ¾ inches long and almost an inch wide. It has a push-in clasp decorated with a blue beaded floret. The clip back earrings have the same floral cluster as the center piece in the necklace. They measure almost an inch length and width. There is a gold cloth piece original to the earrings for comfort. The condition of this set is excellent with the only thing to note is one butterfly’s antenna face backwards. Perfect touch for this spring and summer outfit.
