This old school text is certainly a lovely, poignant little book, full of old-fashioned stories, including fairy tales and poetry. Evocative of a different era, it's contents are, somehow, sweetly comforting. For Home-Schooling, there is a teacher's aid section in the rear of the book.

By Hetty S. Browne, Sarah Withers and W. K. Tate
R. F. Johnson Publishing Company
Richmond, Virginia

Contains numerous line drawings, some in black-and-white and some in four-tone color; 272 pages;
approximately 5 3/8" x 7 1/4"; pictorial tan cloth. The front board has a charming picture printed in black and orange (a cantaloup-orange) depicting of two children reading a book whilst sitting under a tree - the picture is bordered by a floral design.

Publisher's reinforced binding - errata slip bound in.

Binding: Solid ... boards are slightly splayed - no leaves are loose or detached

Exterior: Modest wear - page edges are toned but clean - a bit of smudging and mild surface rub - a bit of scattered spotting - one small damp stain to front board fore-edge - spine extremities compressed and displaying mild abrasion -- else clean and presentable with title and decorative embellishments displaying nicely

Interior: A few page corner tips are creased (dog-eared) - a few small spots and smudges - a few small edge tears (see picture)- obviously well-used, but basically clean and presentable

Would give the perfect vintage decorative touch to any room ... and provide some comfy old-fashioned bedtime stories.
