Noritake "Portland" is a classic antique pattern of very early Noritake Nippon that can be dated to approximately 1912. The pattern features a solid white center with a classically designed 5/8" border consisting of blue scrolls, pink roses and black accented tan edge finished with a narrow line of metallic gold.

This listing includes 2 different sized plates. There are 4 plates in the luncheon size which measures 8 1/2" in diameter. These are larger than salad plates, but smaller than full sized dinner plates. It's an ideal size for a sandwich and serving of fresh fruit at a lady's luncheon, or for a generous portion of a tossed type salad or a dessert featuring cake and ice cream that you want to be sure doesn't try to messily "escape" the plate. This size plate also works wonderfully for using in a mix and match fashion with other sizes of the matching pattern or of coordinating patterns of newer dish ware.

The other 5 plates in this listing are the smaller 7 3/4" wide salad/dessert sized plates. These are nice for use as small sized luncheon plates or with the luncheon sized plates or other matching or coordinating dinner sized plates.

All 9 plates of the antique plates in this listing are in beautiful unflawed, undamaged, and unworn condition.
