Sapphire is one of the most highly prized precious stones in the world, probably second only to diamond. Its rich blue hues, high luster and fiery sparkle have made it sought after and prized by kings and rulers throughout history. Sapphire has a hardness of 9, which is very durable, and is well suited to use in jewelry. I personally think this stone would make a lovely stone for a non-traditional engagement ring. Sapphire is the birthstone for September.

This stone is a natural, light blue sapphire from Montana, right here in the US. It has a lovely light, but strong blue color, with hints of purple. The design makes for a very sparkly stone, from side to side. It is almost flawless, save for one inclusion at one side. It's fairly subtle, and does not impact the performance of the stone one bit. It weighs a respectable 1.55 carats, and measures 7 x 5 x 4mm. Given the clarity and even body tone of the stone, it has most likely been heat treated.

All my stones are hand-cut by me, and the stone you are buying is always the stone pictured. Please see my shop policies for more information, or feel free to contact me with your questions and feedback.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!
