This simple, modernly sleek pin was beautifully executed by Mexican silver maker Isidro Garcia Pina from Taxco Mexico, (Mexico's major silver producing city). The piece is marked “Maricela Tasco 925 hecho en Mexico”, with the trademark assuring authentic Mexican silver. In 1943 Isidro Garcia Pina named his new sterling line after his eldest daughter, “Maricela”. Pieces with this mark have become popular amongst Mexican silver collectors. His shop closed in 1986.
Measuring 2 inches long and in excellent condition, with a strong, well functioning roll clasp, this piece would beautifully accent a favorite scarf or lapel.
