These spectacular cutting boards are not just all good looks, made with a full 1and3/8 inch thick quarter-sawn rock maple slab, you could cut your carrots with an axe and not damage these boards.

The smaller board measures 12 and a quarter inches by 6.5 and stands seven eights of an inch off the counter on Walnut skids.

The larger board comes in at 19 and an eighth by seven and an eighth inches and it also stands a tall seven eights of an inch off the counter on Walnut skids.

I've tried to work the colours and attributes of both the maple and the walnut together. The walnut skids are one and a halve inches by seven eights and sunk a full five eights of an inch into the maple, providing a sturdy foundation for the heaviest of chopping. I've also carried the walnut, sunken five eights of an inch, into the end grain of the maple slab for aesthetics and further stability of the board.

These boards are heavy, I'm guessing the large board weighs in the neighborhood of ten to thirteen pounds. I've hand-finished these boards to a silky smooth surface and they have been heavily oiled with pure mineral oil. With a routine oiling, these boards will last a lifetime.

The price listed is for the pair. I'd hate to split them up, they like each other so much...

All cutting boards are finely finished and throughly oiled with pure mineral oil. Where glueing is necessary a specially prepared rice paste is used.
