Bronze St Brigid's Cross Pendant- cast

Description

This cross is a traditional symbol for St. Brigid- a patron saint of Ireland. The symbol is also associated with the Celtic goddess Brigid.

Traditionally, the Brigid's Cross is woven from reeds or straw. I adapted these techniques to metal (with a few false starts!), and used forged wire to create this pendant in the old traditions but in a new medium.

Once I had made a really lovely one, I used it as the master for casting some duplicates. I'm very pleased with the results- I think they have all the charm of the handmade ones, and the dainty size, the more affordable price and the patination add appeal!

1.25 inches (3.2 cm) high by 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) wide, with a hidden bail on the back for a cord or chain. The bail (pictured in the second photo) is D-shaped, and 5mm deep by 4mm tall.

This pendant comes in a small box. I also include a free standard-length waxed black cotton cord that fits most people when pulled out to its full length, and which is easily replaceable if you have different preferences. The current cord I am using (1mm) is more delicate than the one in the picture, and works better for this design.

Other payment options available; please email me for details. Shipped via Priority Mail with signature confirmation in the USA. Other shipping options and destinations are available- please contact me for details.

Shipment to Australia at this price does NOT include a presentation box.

Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
Paypal: When you pay with Paypal, I can ONLY send your items to your confirmed and verified Paypal address. This protects everyone from fraudulent charges.

If you do not have a confirmed Paypal address, we can still make it work! I can accept money orders and checks, and send the pieces to any address you prefer. I'll send out an order paid by money order as soon as I get it, and one paid by check as soon as the check clears.

Please make the check or money order out to "Pixelations, Inc.", (my company) and mail it to:
Pixelations, Inc.

Northborough, MA 01532

I can also do wire transfers.

If you prefer a non-Paypal payment method, please let me know what it is, and keep in touch with me to arrange payment by your choice of method.

After a couple of weeks, I will need to cancel any orders that are not paid- especially if the buyer does not respond to messages so we can work something out.

For MA residents: Please be aware that as a company in MA ourselves, we are required to charge sales tax on purchases sent to MA addresses, and such will be added to your Paypal bill, or to the amount paid by other means.

Returns & exchanges

Returns:
All sales of custom-made pieces are final.

If you have bought an existing piece and wish to return it, please contact me via convo or email (afisher@afmetalsmith.com) about your situation (including an explanation of the reason you want to return it), and to get an authorization.

I cannot offer refunds for any pieces that are returned without authorization.

If we agree on a return, you will need to send the UNWORN piece back to me in the original packaging, all of which are in new condition; I cannot accept returns of used pieces. Please send it back insured and with tracking and signature confirmation of delivery; I am not responsible for anything that gets lost in the mail. The shipping fees will not be refunded for returns, and such returns may be subject to a restocking fee of 20%, or whatever is necessary to return them to sale-able condition, whichever is greater. If the piece is grubby from wear or seriously damaged, any refund given will be at my discretion, or I can return it to you after you pay for the shipping.

To get a full refund, minus shipping charges, I will need to be contactd promptly, and the piece and packaging need to be new and unworn.

Guarantees:
I work hard to make my pieces wearable and durable. If I err there, I am happy to work with you to come to a satisfying result.

However, I cannot guarantee my work against extraordinary wear and tear, nor against the results of normal wear (like small scratches on a ring worn daily). If one of my pieces has a problem, please let me know via convo or email, and we will work together to resolve it.

I hope my feedback score is reassuring here! It is very important to me to make excellent and durable jewelry, and to be responsive to my customers' needs.

Shipping policies

For orders over $100, and for custom and commission work, I need to send your jewelry in a way that's safe. In my experience, the best method within the US is registered mail through the Post Office.

For other orders, I generally use Priority Mail, usually with delivery confirmation and with signature required at my discretion. Other options are available; please ask for details.

I realize that these options may not work for everyone, though, and will be happy to mail via your choice of method (and to whatever address you prefer) if you pay by money order or check, although these will be at your own risk.

For international orders: I do my best to accurately estimate the shipping costs using the USPO's website. However, I have found that while it is sometimes pretty close to the actual costs, it is also sometimes wildly inaccurate. I will not expect you to pay a surcharge if the shipping cost turns out to be higher than my estimate; similarly, if you are content with the shipping cost estimate upon ordering, I will not provide a refund if the actual cost is lower; in my experience, these 2 inaccuracies balance out, we should both agree to the estimate and not expect to re-negotiate after the transaction is done.
