This little guy just makes me, well, happy. The kind of happy you get when you have a good hair day.. add to the fact that he has, well lots of "hair" I decided to name him "Best Hair Day".

I'm guessing he can make you happy to.

Let me tell you more about him.

The face bead ( which has a different face on the other side, but it's not as happy) I got as part of a beady trade with some of my bestest buddies. We were sitting around making jewelry and digging out bits of this and that, and I saw that face carved out of fluorite and I just had to have it. Now fluorite is a softer stone, so one side ( the back side) is slightly damaged, as this is an older bead that my friends had for years rolling around in their stash. the face is slightly pinkish mostly clear with a touch - in the right light - of green tint.

I've had this face bead for at least a year maybe more. That happens sometimes, you pick up something special, and then it sits in your studio for a couple of years. It's like you KNOW you will have an idea for it eventually, if not right this second. I always new I wanted to make wild kinky hair around it in wire, but beyond that thought, I just wasn't sure. So it laid in my stash waiting further creative inspiration.

Fast forward a year or so, and I wanted to make a "compound" pendant, a pendant that was 2 pendants sort of put together to make a greater whole. I had this great triangle shaped dumortierite bead (in this great old demin color) , and a few left over 4mm Lapis beads.. and suddenly I knew I wanted to make a person pendant using that face bead I had hiding somewhere in a plano box!

I used sterling wire to make the hair and wrap the stones. Every time I look at this I get happy. Just like you do when you have a good.. No the best! Hair day ever!

Pendant is 3 inches tall.
