The serendipity of it all! The colors, the technique, and the clay sing their own song. No two pieces are ever exactly alike. That's why I love to create. And I love this necklace!

The images of this hand shaped pendant were designed using the Japanese metal working technique, mokume gane, adapted to polymer clay. Copper, gold, bronze, pearl, and black clay were stacked in alternating layers and pressed together. Patterns are impressed into the stacked clay and then thin layers were removed and applied to a clay background. Both sides are beautiful!

After curing, the pendant was hand sanded and buffed for a natural smooth finish. Hand made beads and copper wire provide the finishing touches.

The pendant measures approx. 1.75" in diameter (4.5cm) and 3\/8" (9mm) thick. A 22" rubber cord has been attached to a copper wire loop. The cord is finsihed with a handmade ball and loop closure. If you woud like a different length cord please specify the desired length in the "message to seller" box as you check out.
