This listing is for one ancient glass fragment bead (reworked and drilled from end to end).

This bead measures approximately 1/2" x 1/2" x 1/4" and is light GREEN in color. A great 'pendant' bead with beautiful pitting and iridescence. Unique design.

This glass (also known as 'Bactrian glass') is 1000+ years old and was produced using a free-blowing technique with raw materials including sand, metals (for coloration), and seaweed. Over time, the glass became buried in the soil and broke into pieces. The patina you see today is a result of a chemical reaction from extended exposure to acid and minerals in the soil.

This bead is unique in all the world.
