How to look after your Ellis & Pip jewellery:

Store it safely

Store your jewellery in a jewellery box or in its original packaging to prevent it tangling and rubbing against other pieces. This will also help to protect it against sunlight and moisture which can lead to tarnishing.

Wear with care

Many of my pieces are delicate so treat them gently to avoid scratches and accidental damage.

Avoid getting it wet

Keep it away from water when washing or swimming as this can speed up the tarnishing process, weaken threads and wires and discolour stones and pearls.

Clean and polish

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time and can appear to darken or look dirty.  If this happens it is possible to bring back its natural shine by polishing it. A silver cloth, which is a soft duster containing silver polish, is recommended. When cleaning silver, be careful not to spill cleaning products onto any stones, crystals or pearls as this may damage them beyond repair. Pearls, crystals, and semi-precious stones are particularly delicate and should be cleaned only with a soft cloth with no cleaning products or chemicals.

Protect from cosmetics

Avoid contact with hairspray, perfume, and moisturisers, as this will damage the delicate surface of any pearls and affect the shine of metals and crystals.
