“Looking Up” shows a perspective view of city buildings against a backdrop of deep blue sky. Walls of windows reflect the geometric shapes and architectural lines of other buildings. A colorful street banner provides contrast to the neutral tones of the stone, marble and glass structures. This original design is based on photos I took of buildings in the downtown area of Vancouver BC.

This art quilt was machine pieced and free motion quilted on my domestic sewing machine, and is 35" by 48". The binding is folded entirely to the back like a facing, to give the quilt a cleaner, more modern look. A sleeve is sewn to the back so the quilt can be hung from a dowel.
