Item details

Vintage from the 1910s

This 1917 EAPG (early American patterned glass) serving bowl is one of the most beautiful and practical of the EAPG designs. It features 4 sparkly prism shaped glass pineapple images circulating around the bowl separated by flaring cut lines in between pineapples. The bowl is heavy and clear with deep incisions creating the sparkle.

This bowl was made by the Pennsylvania company named J B Higbee in 1917 and bears the early Higbee embossed honey bee mark using the initials HIG embossed across the left wing, body, and right wing of the mark.

The bowl is 3" tall. The base measures 4" wide and flares to 9" wide at its top rim. It will hold a nice amount of salad or side dish for a small to medium sized gathering. It is in excellent beautiful condition -- a practical and exceptionally pretty way to serve food to your guests, or a an especially nice gift with a long story to share as a gift for a friend or family member.
