This 1960s cocktail dress is a beauty! The designer was Jane Derby and it was sold at the Millie Oppenheimer store in Chicago. Oscar de la Renta worked as a head designer for Jane Derby in 1965.

It is made of a fine, soft fabric (feels like rayon), that drapes well and has nice body. No fabric content label or size label. There could be some silk in it. It resists wrinkling. The fabric at hem and sleeve is satin.

I love the interesting and unusual detail of the braided fabric at the hem and sleeves! The neckline and silhouette is so flattering! It's a very elegant and classy Little Black Dress!

It is in very good condition but I did notice that the lining (it is fully lined and has a 1 1/2" strip of lace covering the hem inside) is pulling away from the hem in about a 2" area. You would not notice it unless you were looking for it and you would never know it from looking at the dress on the outside, only the inside.

Measurements -

Shoulders - 16"

Bust - 34"

Waist - 28"

Hips - 38"

Length - 28" from shoulder to hem
