Item details

Vintage from the 1920s

Gorgeous and rare portrait brooch by Thomas L Mott. Usually more self-consciously 'antique' in style, and often using butterfly wings for portraits of Georgian ladies and scenes, this is a gorgeous hand-tinted photograph of a mystery silent film star more contemporary to when the brooch was made - perhaps to commemorate her death?

2 x 1.5"

Silvertone metal.

Some tarnish, mainly to the back which you can see in the photos. The pin is a little bent, and one of the nubbins on the back has gone but neither of these is visible when worn or affects the funtionality. Sold as vintage.
