All it takes is a little imagination to find many uses for this decorative tin. Use trinket box as is or, if you are the creative type, dress it up even more with trim/braid and an internal felt or velvet lining. This particular size has been used to make mini-sewing emergency kits, first aid kits, mini tool kits and can even hold two small floating tea-candles and a couple matches in case of electrical black outs.

The top of this box has been decorated with a scene digitized (then cropped and printed) either from one of the wall hangings I sell or taken from a famous Japanese woodblock artist such as Hokusai, Hiroshige and Hanurobu. This print is then adhered and decoupaged onto the top of the metal box, trimmed and then sealed with 3 layers of acrylic sealer (which make it water resistant but not water or scratch proof).

This is a rectangular hinged top 3 ounce "tin" (100% steel) container with cover that is hinged on one side. It is the same size as the Altoid Mint tin but these are new—not-reused tins. This tin is food grade but caustic substances can cause the steel to rust. Outside dimensions are 3-11/16” x 2-5/16” x 3/4” deep—no sharp edges.

Motif History: "Thunderstorm Below the Mountain" Hokusai's woodblock print from the series "The 36 Views of Mount Fuji". This with his "Great Wave Off Kanazawa" and his "Red Fuji" are the three most popular of his works.

Each tin is individually handcrafted and a lot of time goes into the several processes it takes to make each one. Because they are hand assembled, occasionally you may find one to have a minor irregularity (usually a tiny bubble) caused by the decoupage process itself that may be visible within the decoupaged artwork cover.

These trinket boxes make unique wedding/ party favors and if you are looking for a quantity of these, convo me. It may be possible to use your own digital art work for the covers. It would take about 3 weeks for a large custom order—subject to change in the busy fall season.

We all hate overpaying for shipping and my listed shipping costs are best estimates for the individual item. If you wish to purchase more than one item at one time, I can combine them in a special reserved listing for you and recalculate the weight and most likely save you excess postal fees. I can also combine items from both of my stores into one purchase—Please convo me first BEFORE you make payment! I am unable to combine shipping once you have paid for your selection. Wish to make a purchase but don’t see your country listed?—it might be possible.
