PDF Pattern #SS2016-08 "Tanglin Junior School Uniform" to make a doll version of the Tanglin Trust School Singapore (Junior School) uniform to fit standard 18-inch dolls such American Girl®, Florrie, Tonner My Imagination, Our Generation.

This is NOT a typical Swish & Swirl pattern. It was created for mass production of the doll-sized school uniforms of my children's school while we lived in Singapore. These uniforms were sold by my friend and me under the Daisy Dolls brand at the school fairs in 2012-2013 (see one of the photos). Now that I have stopped making those uniforms to order, due to the demand, I have decided to release it as a pattern so some other parents could make these uniforms for their daughters' dolls. In this pattern you will not find any complicated seams. The only hand stitching is to attach buttons, everything else can be done on a sewing machine.

However, I hope this pattern would also appeal to other doll collectors as this uniform can be sewn in other fabrics and would look great (as the examples from my brilliant testers show!).

Note to Tanglin Trust School parents: This pattern is intended for personal use only. Mass production and/or selling this doll uniform at the TTS school is not allowed. If you wish to do it, please contact me.

This pattern was created in collaboration with Ariadne of Ariadne’s Thread (www.ariadne-thread.com).

Design includes:

Wrap skirt
Blouse with front buttons
Relaxed fit
Hair scrunchy
Minimal hand stitching

Pattern features 17 pages of step-by-step instructions with photographs, including tips on how to insert elastic into the skirt and the hair scrunchy.

Supplies needed:

• ¼ yard (¼ metre) main fabric (for blouse)
• ¼ yard (¼ metre) fabric (for skirt)
• strip of fabric (for scrunchy)
• 5 x 8mm white or matching buttons for blouse
• 2 x 9mm black or matching buttons for skirt
• 45 cm / 18” of 6mm / ¼” wide elastic
• 2 small safety pins (for threading elastic)
• matching thread (for an authentic TTS uniform use white thread for the blouse and the scrunchy, and black thread for the skirt)

Suggested fabrics:
Blouse - white cotton or cotton/polyester poplin is best.
Skirt - cotton, cotton/polyester blend, wool. For an authentic TTS uniform use an old TTS Junior skirt (one skirt will be enough to make at least 2 doll skirts).
Hair scrunchy - cotton/polyester blend fabric. For an authentic TTS hair scrunchy use an old TTS Infant dress.
Not suitable for knits.

Suggested Skill Level - Intermediate.
