Inspirations and Influences.
Many of the textile collages I create are inspired by the Asian art
displayed in Tokonoma alcoves. Tokonomas were the sacred center of a
traditional Japanese home, and reserved for treasured items like scrolls or
calligraphy, beautiful kimonos, ikebana flower arrangements, miniature
bonsai trees, and fine ceramics for tea ceremonies. The items displayed were changed for special occasions, according to the season, or to create different settings and atmospheres.

While every effort is taken to reproduce colors as accurately as possible,
monitor colors may vary. Copyright: Linda M. Olszanski © 2005-11. All rights
