People often think that these earrings are made by dipping the plant material in liquid silver. Nooooo!I You would severely burn your fingers and the plant would be gone in a flash.

Here's how it's done. I snip off a piece from the Hinoki Cypress on my front porch and attach it to a wax sprue. I pour plaster around and over it so that it is fully encased. Then I burn away the plant in a kiln for several hours. This leaves a cavity in the plaster that I fill with molten sterling silver resulting in an exact replica.

These earrings are fairly large - about 1 1/2" the ear wires. They are similar but not exact (just like the plant). I soldered rings to the stem and hand made the ear wires. Substantial looking but lightweight. This is the pair you will get.

They are polished with a brass brush for a subtle shine.

Nature for your ears. I wear a pair often and they are always admired.
