My take on William Shakespeare's Hamlet—poor, downtrodden, drowned Ophelia becoming his path to madness; a ship to England ready to ferry him to Hades instead; his mother and uncle fading into the kingdom of Denmark to whom he owes his loyalty.
I think a cool, stylized animated Hamlet would be amazing! After all, Disney made them all lions for one of their biggest blockbusters...
Man I love Hamlet. Its a great read, amazing to watch, and full of meaty roles to act. Heck, even reading literary criticism on it can be fun! I read an essay comparing Shakespeare to Aristotle in terms of political theory, and while I didn't quite buy it, it did shed some light on the political side of the drama between Hamlet and his usurping uncle. I mean seriously, how could he not fortify his country against invasion by Fortinbras? That was so transparent!
