About the Author:
Riley Loves Robotics was written & Illustrated by Nikki Arm, a Mechanical Engineering major at California Polytechnic SLO and Safety Supervisor/Senior Tech in on campus ME Metal Shops. Nikki's love for STEAM grew quickly after joining First Robotics as a Freshman at San Dieguito Academy High School (SDA). She became her team's Head Machinist for the following 3 years. During her junior year at SDA, Nikki decided to begin writing a children's book series (Girls Love STEAM), as part of a Girl Scout Gold Award project, to encourage young girls to explore STEAM. Nikki has shared her books with Dean Kamen, creator of First Robotics (see picture of meeting in posting). Nikki has also authored Sarah Loves Science and has plans for additional books about technology, engineering, art, and math.
