This is a rare Waterbury Eight Day 12” Office Clock from the early 1900s. It is labeled Waterbury Clock Company of Waterbury, Connecticut. The wood back is embossed with the numbers “1399”,…perhaps the model number.? There are instructions for use and a couple of handwritten dates: “Mc 9-13-00” and “Mc 4-15-10”. Perhaps clock keeper dates?

The clock appears to have been used in an industrial environment. The original white case was repainted long ago with a wonderful green milk paint. The paint has crackled over the years. While the case has some scars and the paper face has a couple of tears I think the defects just add to the character of the clock.

The key and pendulum are present and the clock works for a few minutes and then stops. I suspect the works just need cleaning. See pictures for details. Contact with questions!

This would make a wonderful addition to just about any home!
