This vintage print of a drawing by the Russian artist Alexander Tischler, Clown and Town, is t from the portfolio "Alexander Tischler Drawings", published in 1987 in the former Soviet Union.

"Town and Clown" (1965) is part of the series "Clowns" and it was drawn with coloured felt pens.

Size: 11.7" by 15.6"

Excellent condition. Perfect for framing.

Paper is at least 300 gsm, the reverse is blank.

You get the actual print from the 1967 portfolio, not a new reproduction.

Alexander Tischler (Russian, 1898-1980)

Tyshler was born in Melitopol in the Ukraine in 1898; he died in 1980 in Moscow. Considered a moderate avante - garde artist of the 1920's, he exhibited in USSR, East & West Germany, France, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan and the United States. His works are in the Tretyakov Art Gallery and Pushkin Museum, Moscow; the Russian Museum, Leningrad; the Ludwig Museum, Cologne; and the Cremona Foundation, Maryland. (Biography from
