Turritella is a special variety of agate. While many agates are volcanic in origin, turritella is made up of fossilized shells of sea snails in the genus turritella, which are still alive and known for their sharp, spiraling shells. Preserved in varying colors of agate, they produce a stone with really amazing patterns. These numerous shells, with their white outlines and on a beautiful dark background make for a lovely and one-of-a-kind material. This pendant is a nice triangular cabochon which shows off the patterning well. I have wrapped it in sterling silver to make a pendant.
The item will be mailed in a priority mail flat-rate box to buyers in the US. Canadian and other international shipping is through US first class international mail. The chain is not included.
