This piece of antler, called a button, is from the base of the antler where it attaches to the skull and is a highly prized piece of material. it is roughly 2 3/4 inches across the middle. It has fabulous light grey color and texture, a piece of art all on its own! We carved a fleur-de-lis in the back side! this is a true piece of art here! This button comes from a mule deer here in Utah or the surrounding area. Great gift for Dad, graduating Eagle Scout or anyone who does alot of backwoods time. These are very reliable copmpass'.

Disclaimer: a compass cannot help you in a survival situation if you do not know how to use it! please be sure to understand how it works!

Antlers are shed and regrown every year by deer and elk. No animals were harmed to acquire these antlers. Local "shed hunters" go around during the shedding season and collect them off of the ground. They are extremely strong and a renewbale resource. And they look really cool!
