About 14k Gold Filled
14k gold filled is an affordable alternative to solid gold. It is highly regarded as second best to solid gold as the thick gold layer gives it the excellent qualities and durability of solid gold at a fraction of the cost.

To be legally called gold filled, the solid gold content must be at least 5% by weight. Gold filled is made by using heat and pressure to bond a layer of solid gold around a brass inner core. This thick gold layer can be up to 100% thicker than gold plated items.

Under normal wear, gold filled jewelry will not change color or wear off and resists tarnish very well. It is a great option for people who have allergies as it is hypoallergenic. With simple care, it can last a lifetime (10-30+ years)!
