A gorgeous antique filet lace table runner and 3 smaller matching accent pieces. Beautiful details are abundant on these hand made lace pieces. Grid work patterned rectangles are surrounded by a web work of petite flowers that form a wave pattern-- all pieces are finished with stepped edging-- in a lovely ivory shade.

"Filet" is the French word for a net, and "Lacis" for network - meaning in this case that the net has been detailed with a design darned or applied upon its surface. The ground consists of a
delicate network made by hand, using the same technique as was used for making coarser fish and garden nets. On this ground the pattern is worked, usually by darning; the "point de toile" and the "point de reprise" being the stitches most generally employed.

And thank you to anordicrose http://www.etsy.com/shop/anordicrose?ref=pr_shop_more for info on these beautiful panels!

In wonderful condition and freshly laundered.
Large runner 47"l 12.25", matching medium pane is 14"l x 8.5"-- the 2 smaller matching rectangular doilies are 10.25" x 5"
