One of the trends of the 1970s hippie era was a revival in interest of Art Nouveau, and part of that was an interest in the decadent English illustrator Aubrey Beardsley.

This belt has a pewter buckle featuring Dionysus holding a bunch of grapes, with a with a peacock--another popular image of the Hippie era as well as the Aesthetic movement. The brown leather belt compliments the buckle nicely.

The buckle was made by the Bloomington company Indiana Metal Craft. Their logo features another nice Beardsley image. The design number A.B.9 indicates that there were others in this series....collect them all?

This belt is suitable for men or women.

Size: Total length including buckle 36 1/2”, will fit waist/hip 29 1/2-32 1/2.
Buckle is 2 5/8” x 1 5/8”, belt is 1 3/4” wide
