This is a lovely looking little camera made in the American Zone of post war Germany.

The camera was made by Gerhard Goldammer of Frankfurt, Germany. It's a small light 120 camera, and it's very simple to use.

The GUGO uses readily available 120 film and produces square images, like the one I've shown as an example, on the sidebar.

The lens is a Gugomatf7.7, 75mm. It has shutter speeds from 1/25 to 1/200 and B. This is an excellent lens that produces great im images with smooth blurred effects (bokeh), in areas that are out of focus. This is something you can't do with digital cameras without paying thousands of dollars, or resorting to software.

The camera has been well used and shows its age. There are a few wear marks and scratches. It's been tested, it is fully functional with everthing working. Film is 120 color or black and white, it's readily available and can be processed by most drug stores and camera shops.

The case is stunning faux alligator. It's original and in very good vintage condition.

Historically it's important because, like the VW Bug/Beetle, different elements of the Allied forces decided that rather than punish and damage Germany, as happened after the First World War, it was essential to get Germany up and running industrially. This little camera is one of the seeds which sewed Germany's prosperity.
