Victorian Teacup and Saucer And Cake Plate With Orange Flowers. English Antique China Tea Cup Trio, Wileman China Style. For A Tea Party

Description ~

This English teacup trio is a true antique from the Victorian era. The beautiful transfer printed pattern of rich and deep terracotta flowers, with black and gold highlights, is very beautiful indeed. It really stands out against the white of the china. There is no maker's mark, but the teacup has a hand painted pattern number of 823. It is highly likely that this trio was manufactured in Stoke-On-Trent, the heart of the English potteries.

This teacup trio is a beautiful example of an English tea party table setting from Victorian England. Elegant and eye catching, this transfer printed pattern, with black and gold hand painted highlights, is just as lovely and desirable today as when it was made in the nineteenth century.

The spectacular shape of the teacup saucer and tea plate is especially beautiful - it is very similar in style to the world famous Shelley Wileman China styles of the Victorian era. It may even be by Wileman, but there is no maker's mark. It feels very special to use indeed. This trio would stand out proudly on your tea table and would also display beautifully. The perfect trio for serving tea and cake at a quintessentially English teatime.

Perfect for a tea set or antique china collector, or as a gift to someone who loves tea, cake! This trio would also make a wonderful gift for a special occasion such as a birthday or Christmas, or for someone who loves baking cakes.

Condition ~

In very good antique condition. There are no chips or cracks. There is rubbing to the rim gilding in places, mainly on the teacup, which is to be expected due to age and use, but this is minor and commensurate with age. There are some little flecks in the china in places. This is a natural occurrence of the contemporary manufacturing process at the time and reflects the trio's history. There is some crazing to the glaze in isolated places. This does not affect soundness or usability and is typical of teacups from this era - it is around 130 years old at least! Please do ask for further photos if you would like any. Please remember this is a genuine beautiful antique teacup and cannot be expected to be in standardised modern manufactured perfect condition. It has history and character. Any further wear or marks are commensurate with age.
