This vintage suitcase will be perfect for your French country decor. The orange color will add a vibrant pop to your interiors. There is a label inside marking this "Toiles de Voiron, Trousseaux Espinouse Freres," and then an address in Nimes, a city in the south of France.

This suitcase contained household linen made from "toiles de Voiron." It is fabric that used to be popular in France, made from hemp grown in the Isère valley, and widely used for centuries, until cotton and linen replaced it. "Toile de Voiron" stopped being made early in the 1900s.

Use this suitcase to store your own household linen, or keep it open and organize your magazines inside maybe.

It is 25 x 15.5 x 6.5 inches or 60 x 37 x 15.5 inches. It is made of some kind of sheet metal, and the lining inside is paper. The clasps work.

The suitcase weighs more than 2 kilos or 4.4 pounds, which explains the whopping high shipping price. All that money goes to the post office!
